Habiko at MIPIM 2025

This year marks a new chapter for MIPIM: the first under the new Labour government, the debut of the UK Hub, and the first for Habiko.
This year, Phil Mayall, Managing Director, Muse and James Agar, Head of Real Estate Origination, Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC), will be spotlighting Habiko and raising awareness of a partnership poised to make a real impact.
As a business, MIPIM sets us up for the year ahead. This year, the partners that form Habiko will be very focussed on identifying the first opportunities, with a mission to ensure the economic and social benefits are felt by the communities which need them.
The focus is on identifying areas across England where the demand for affordable housing is urgent, but local markets are falling short. Habiko is committed to driving change—creating good jobs, building sustainable homes, and revitalising spaces for communities to come together and thrive.
MIPIM is where the public and private sector come together at scale, allowing us to step back from our day-to-day work and think bigger. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our ambitions, forge relationships, and leave with new perspectives that we can build on back in the UK.
The UK government’s target of 1.5 million new homes will come into sharp focus this year, and the industry needs to provide strategies to assist in delivering this objective. This is what Habiko is all about. Our goal: to bring forward 3,000 low-carbon, low-energy affordable homes for rent across England. This aligns perfectly with the wider housing conversations that will be prominent at MIPIM this year. This gives us an invaluable opportunity to meet with local authorities, as well as potential partners across the public and private sector to discuss our shared ambitions and paths forward for housing delivery.
MIPIM is also a unique moment to engage with other European and global cities, to hear about best practice and identify trends or solutions that are working in Frankfurt, Lille, or Dubai for example, and how they might be applied in the UK.
We will no doubt leave Cannes full of ideas, having strengthened existing relationships, built new ones, and discovered new opportunities to explore with our partners.
We’re looking forward to engaging in meaningful conversations with impact, that will create genuine change for the areas and communities that are embedded in our mission for 2025.
